(re)building the American chestnut industry, nursery to grocery
What Happened. What we're doing about it.
One hundred years ago, a blight was introduced to the U.S. that decimated the chestnut trees that used to dominate many of America's forests. Since then, chestnuts have become a niche crop cultivated and enjoyed by a very small group of people.
Our goal is to (re)build the chestnut industry in the U.S. focused on three major areas: nursery & propagation, cultivation & processing, and consumer marketing.
